Add T3 Code as a macOS Fleet-maintained app - #56984
unique_identifiercom.t3tools.t3code read from the installer's Info.plist, not from the cask.
installer_formatdmg (file confirms it). App signed with Developer ID, team ARK85ZXQ4Z.
CFBundleShortVersionString and CFBundleVersion are both 0.1.5, matching the cask version, so the generated patched query works.
Icon generated with tools/software/icons/generate-icons.sh from the app bundle and quantized with pngquant.
Note: since 0.1.0 the app bundle is T3 Code (Beta).app (it was T3 Code (Alpha).app), with the same bundle id. A custom install script (inputs/homebrew/scripts/t3-code-install.sh, the generated script plus one step) removes a leftover Alpha bundle after the Beta copy succeeds, and post_uninstall_scripts removes it on uninstall. The generator now writes pre/post-uninstall scripts for casks without an uninstall stanza (they were silently dropped), with a test in scripts_test.go.

Testing
QA'd all new/changed functionality manually
Ran the generated queries with osqueryd 5 (-S) on a Mac with the 0.1.5 app from the cask:
exists: returns rows.
patched: 0 rows while an older copy is also installed (T3 Code (Alpha).app 0.0.42), 1 row with the compared version lowered to 0.0.1.
open: 1 row with the app not running. Not tested with the app running.
Ran the install script with sudo, hdiutil, and osascript stubbed, against a temporary APPDIR: with an Alpha bundle and an older Beta bundle present, it exits 0 and leaves only the new Beta bundle. On an empty APPDIR it installs Beta.
Not tested: a full install/uninstall through Fleet (left to the CI validator).
Added T3 Code to the macOS software catalog, including its description and icon, with options to install and uninstall it.
Bug Fixes
Homebrew uninstall scripts now run before and after app removal, including when no custom uninstall action is defined.
T3 Code installation now restores an existing Beta app if replacement fails, removes the legacy Alpha app after successful installation, and relaunches the app if it was running.

Walkthrough
The change adds T3 Code to the maintained-apps configuration and macOS catalog, including detection queries and installation and uninstall scripts. The installer tracks and quits a running app, backs up the Beta app and restores it if copying fails, removes the legacy Alpha app, and relaunches the app when applicable. The software page maps the T3 Code name to its icon. Homebrew uninstall generation now runs cask pre- and post-uninstall scripts around artifact removal when no artifact has an uninstall stanza.

T3 Code is ready for Apple silicon with owner awareness of bounded installation and uninstall edge cases. Alpha cleanup is implemented, but failed copies or removals and older copies outside /Applications can still produce incomplete recovery or misleading status.

bundle ID, so a leftover Alpha copy kept the patched query failing.

Assert the missing pre- and post-script orderings.
The test checks pre < removeApp and trash < post, but not pre < trash or removeApp < post. Add both assertions so the test enforces the full ordering.

Add assertions in the script-ordering test to verify that the pre-script
precedes trash and removeApp precedes the post-script, alongside the existing
ordering checks.
Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
When the app is detected as running but no non-root console user is found, quit_and_track_application explicitly skips quitting it and allows replacement to proceed.
Installation can replace the bundle while the old process continues running, leaving the active app on the old version despite a successful install.
This can occur when: A T3 Code process remains active in another or disconnected GUI session while /dev/console reports root or loginwindow.

@coderabbitai Two items from your last review that didn't have their own threads:
Nitpick (scripts_test.go ordering): done in b9a65d5. The test now also asserts pre-uninstall before trash and the app removal before post-uninstall.
Unverified note (quit_and_track_application at the login window): not changing this. It's the generator's shared helper, used by every app-artifact FMA, so any change belongs there.
Ordering nitpick: Confirmed in ee/maintained-apps/ingesters/homebrew/scripts_test.go. The test checks that pre-uninstall precedes both app removal and trash, and that both precede post-uninstall. I inspected the assertions; I did not run the test.
Login-window note: Understood. quit_and_track_application is a shared generator helper. No T3 Code-specific change is needed for that note. Any follow-up investigation belongs in the shared helper. Would you like a separate follow-up issue?

Adds Fleet's November 2026 newsletter
(`articles/newsletter-2026-11.md`), which covers October 2026. It
publishes at `fleetdm.com/newsletters/newsletter-2026-11`.
- **Email subject line:** `Fleet news: November 2026`
- **Category:** `newsletter`, singular, which the website build accepts
(#52120). No website changes are needed.
- **Author:** Aube Paul (`robinedev`), matching the September and
October issues.
## Open questions for reviewers
- **New "📺 Fleet Virtual Summit" section** for the November 10 LinkedIn
Live event, placed before workshops. Keep it or fold it into the
workshops section. If it stays, it's a new entry in the newsletter's
section emoji table.
- **The roadmap preview is linked even though November isn't a quarter's
first month.** The October preview published October 13, after the
October issue went out, so readers haven't seen it in the newsletter
yet.
- **Article and guide picks are editorial**, not based on traffic
numbers. Reorder them if you have analytics. There were no case studies
in October.
- **The community section has one post, and it's personal.** Henry
Stamerjohann's MacSysAdmin talk. Fleet's company-page post about the
"Apple in the enterprise" research is another option, but it repeats the
research article in "Worth reading." No engagement numbers were
available.
- **Community contributors with five or more merged PRs in October:**
Prajwal Janbandhu (8, in the thank-you line), Michael Alt (6,
highlighted), Dhvanit (6, returning, not named), and Shreyash Agare (5,
returning, not named). Confirm none of them is a contractor whose
account isn't in the org.
- **Several first-time contributors only edited the handbook.** None
appear in Fleet's Slack, so they stay in the thank-you line.
## How each section was sourced
- **Shipped:** the Fleet 4.93.0 and 4.94.0 release articles,
cross-checked against tagged releases. The three highlights are macOS
patch notifications (Premium), Android zero-touch enrollment (Premium),
and self-service configuration profiles (not Premium), so the section
isn't all Premium. Patch releases 4.93.1 and 4.93.2 are covered by the
"See every release" link.
- **Planned:** the release planning board (view 10, filtered to
milestone 4.95.0), not the milestone fallback. There are 22 stories, all
assigned. 5.0.0 is due December 4, so November holds one release.
- **Workshops:** fleetdm.com/workshops, with the next five after the
send date.
- **Community contributions:** PRs merged in public `fleetdm` repos in
October by authors outside the `fleetdm` org, minus bots.
## Left out on purpose
- **"Windows: force standard account"** was in the planned section in
both September and October and hasn't shipped. It's not on the 4.95.0
board, so it isn't mentioned a third time.
- **Multiple versions of the same App Store app** is named in the 4.94.0
release article's title, but the article marks it as moved to 4.95. It's
listed under "Also on deck" instead of "shipped."
- **Amsterdam workshop (November 3):** past by the time this sends.
- **Fleet staff or contractors whose accounts aren't in the org:**
@TraiLynne and @thomcrowe. Both are confirmed in Fleet's Slack.
- **Other October content:** the warehouse inventory article and
Retriever guide, the PHP2Shell and eMudhra pieces, and every `industry
news` article. The routine doesn't feature that category.
