chore: Release WPGraphQL Logging Plugin on WP Engine Updater #446

Open

Description

@colinmurphy

Overview

To release the WPGraphQL Logging Plugin on the WP Engine Updater API, so sites installed from the release zip get updates in wp-admin.

Releases are already cut by release-please, which attaches wpgraphql-logging.zip to each GitHub release. What's missing is the client side: the plugin header is Update URI: https://github.com/wpengine/hwptoolkit, but nothing handles that URI, so WordPress never offers updates.

Checklist

1. Add the updater client to the plugin

  • Add the WP Engine plugin updater class, following FaustWP's implementation (includes/updates/)
  • Hook the update check on admin_init with the plugin slug and plugin_basename() of the main plugin file
  • Update the Update URI header to match
  • Decide whether the updater class lives in each plugin or in one shared copy in this repo (no build step either way)

2. Publish

  • Add the plugin slug to the WP Engine Updater
  • Prepare info.json (plugin metadata: version, requires, tested, changelog)
  • Publish the current release zip, then verify the version appears in the API and installs/updates cleanly
