check_txn_status merged response before extract_error, so a TxnNotFound key error came back as MultipleKeyErrors instead of ExtractedErrors. The match never mapped it to Error::TxnNotFound, and get_txn_status_from_lock skipped its backoff and never retried with rollback_if_not_exist, leaving expired orphan locks unresolved. Extract errors before merging, like the other plans do.

Update: Looks like I’m not the only one running into this issue. #543 seems to be the same one I’m seeing. I suppose this is a very small and clean fix.

Summary by CodeRabbit

    • Transaction status checks now report missing transactions as “transaction not found” and propagate other key errors.

Walkthrough

check_txn_status now extracts errors before applying CollectSingle to the request plan. Key errors are surfaced as MultipleKeyErrors and handled through that variant.

497-501: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Add a regression test for the TxnNotFound retry path.

The existing test returns a successful CheckTxnStatusResponse and checks only that one status request and one lock-resolution request occur. It does not provide a MultipleKeyErrors response containing TxnNotFound, assert Error::TxnNotFound propagation, or verify the expired-lock retry with rollback_if_not_exist = true. Reverting this extraction order would therefore not fail the existing test.
