HariniMalothu17 commentedon Sep 29, 2025
Hey JakobKrummeichAndrena .
We’re actively working to release version 0.80 and to accelerate our release process so that 0.80 and future versions stay more closely aligned with React Native. Thank you for your patience, we will roll out 0.80 very soon :)

Anupriya Verma (@anupriya13) Thank you for the suggestion but I am reluctant to use a preview version for my production app.

Hi Anupriya Verma (@anupriya13) just a quick question for my understanding: The Release Notes say that "Custom fonts unsupported". I understand it like that I cannot use any other font than the standard font. Is this correct?
anupriya13 commentedon Nov 5, 2025
JakobKrummeichAndrena
Refer this PR #14495
So you can use standard font styles on text input. Can you please clarify exactly on what level of customisations you are referring to?
JakobKrummeichAndrena commentedon Nov 5, 2025
Anupriya Verma (@anupriya13) thank you for the quick response and sorry for not being precise. I am looking to use a custom font as a .ttf file as fontFamily in the new architecture Text and TextInput components. However, I saw in the release notes that "Custom fonts unsupported" and am trying to understand what that means exactly :) Thank you
anupriya13 commentedon Nov 5, 2025
JakobKrummeichAndrena
Got it! Yeah so currently 0.80 doesn't supports adding .ttf file custom fonts. It only supports standard custom fonts as demonstrated in the PR.
I'll update the release notes with more clarity to avoid this confusion. Thanks for pointing it out!
JakobKrummeichAndrena commentedon Nov 5, 2025
Anupriya Verma (@anupriya13) Alright, thank you for the clarification. Are there plans to support custom .ttf fonts in a future release?
anupriya13 commentedon Nov 5, 2025
JakobKrummeichAndrena Yes it should be in our roadmap. Could you please create a new issue for same on GitHub to track it better and we can prioritise it accordingly. Thanks :)
