Continuing aarch64/arm64 Issues with QEMU static #262
This is a follow-on to #240 which is still not fixed after PR #251. On aarch64/arm64 platforms, the logic in custompios is still trying to use qemu-aarch64-static unnecessarily. Part of my original patch didn't make it into PR #251.
Wanted to ask about the state and success building 64bit images. I tried this for a few days, but had no luck building a 64bit image on the Github Action Runner.
My pipeline works fine with the RaspberryPiOS Trixie 32bit image (but the dependencies of my software do not work on the 32bit image...).
But I get this error when running the pipeline: qemu-arm-static: /usr/bin/bash: Invalid ELF image for this architecture
Don't know if it detects the image version wrong, as the output states Building on non-ARM device a armv7l system, using qemu-arm-static and I would expect something else than "arm7l" there?
If you need, I can link my build pipeline, it is nothing proprietary.
@Wardstein
The current release process in OctoPi builds successfully arm64 images. So it should work. according the the error its not detecting BASE_BOARD. Can you link the build.log?
Ok, I made it so config.local and variants have a higher priority, try now to use the latest devel build and tell me if it works.
also make sure you are using an up to date docker image, or up to date source.

I created a variant config file (as in the docs):
and use the latest commit from CustomPiOS in the pipeline:

Hey @guysoft,
Don't know if somebody else can see the build logs here https://github.com/Wardstein/image-build-test/actions/runs/21800544341, but I attached them.

Thanks for having a look. In the repo you can find my normal config file and then the "raspberrypiarm64" variant config file

That works, thank you very much for the quick help/fix :)
Will definitely link to CustomPiOS in my repo 👍

@Wardstein glad to hear - you can pull request your repo to the projects section in the CustomPiOS readme too :)

Any chance of merging #261?
