WeChat's CFBundleShortVersionString has only three parts (4.2.0), while the cask version has four (4.2.0.16,270352). The generated patched query compared bundle_short_version with 4.2.0.16, and osquery sorts 4.2.0 lower, so the patch policy failed on every host, including one that had just installed the current version. The validator didn't catch this because it accepts a match on either CFBundleShortVersionString or CFBundleVersion.
This adds a wechat branch to the homebrew ingester. It compares bundle_version (CFBundleVersion) with the cask build after the comma (270352). The fourth part of the cask version changes between releases (4.2.0.12 → 4.2.0.15 → 4.2.0.16) while the short version stays 4.2.0, so the build number is the only field that tells those releases apart. It has gone up with every release in the output's history: 41755 (4.1.11.55) → 269337 (4.1.12.25) → … → 270352 (4.2.0.16). If the cask version ever has no comma, the default query is kept.
The output was regenerated, and only the patched query changed: no version, URL, hash, or script changes. Software inventory still shows 4.2.0 while the catalog shows 4.2.0.16. That is the same display mismatch as i1Profiler and doesn't affect the policy.

I downloaded xWeChatMac_universal_4.2.0.16_270352.dmg (SHA-256 matches the output) and mounted it read-only. Its Info.plist has CFBundleIdentifier = com.tencent.xinWeChat, CFBundleShortVersionString = 4.2.0, and CFBundleVersion = 270352. Then I ran the queries with Fleet's osqueryd (-S --disable_extensions), limited to the mounted app's path.

Bug Fixes
WeChat version checks on macOS now use the build number for patch detection when the version includes a valid numeric build value. This improves accuracy when version information includes a build number. Versions without a valid build value continue to use the existing version-based check.
WeChat's CFBundleShortVersionString drops the cask version's fourth part
("4.2.0" for cask "4.2.0.16,270352"), so the generated patched query
always sorted the installed app below the catalog version. Compare
CFBundleVersion against the cask build after the comma instead.

🟡 Changes recommended
An unvalidated build suffix can alter the SQL predicate, while existing WeChat patch policies, including pinned installations, retain the failing query.
When a WeChat cask version ends with a comma and a numeric build, the Homebrew ingester uses that build in the patched query’s bundle_version comparison. Other suffix formats retain the existing query. Tests cover these cases and the generated display version. The WeChat macOS output now compares against build 270352.

Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue [#57338] requires the WeChat macOS patch policy to pass for the current installed app. The WeChat branch compares bundle_version with the numeric cask build after the comma. The generated output compares bundle_version with 270352 and keeps the catalog display version 4.2.0.16. Tests cover the current build and fallback cases without a valid build suffix. This addresses the CFBundleShortVersionString mismatch.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The whole-PR changes are limited to the Homebrew ingester, its WeChat tests, and the regenerated WeChat output. The output changes only the patched query. The tests validate the numeric build format, fallback behavior, and injection-shaped input. These changes directly support issue [#57338]. No unrelated changes are shown.

Handle WeChat cask versions that lack a build suffix.
When the cask version has no ,<build> suffix, the WeChat branch is skipped. The default query then compares bundle_short_version with the four-part 4.2.0.16. The short version has three parts, so an up-to-date host reports as unpatched. Define the patch behavior for this format explicitly instead of relying on the fallback.

Update the WeChat version handling around weChatCaskBuildPattern so cask
versions without a build suffix use an explicit patch comparison compatible with
bundle_short_version, rather than falling through to the four-part default
query. Preserve the existing behavior for versions with a build suffix.
