Review in Change Stack →

Walkthrough

Six maintained app records receive release version updates, with corresponding patched-version thresholds, installer URLs, and checksums. The Kiro CLI configuration sets frozen to true. The Zulip record references a replacement uninstall script that adds cleanup for matching recent-document shared-file-list entries.

Merge Risk: Minimal · up to 027a7

No concrete merge-blocking regression is established. The release updates retain unverified archive-layout and bundle-version assumptions; Kiro preserves its existing DMG and uninstall behavior.

The description identifies automated app-data ingestion but is largely incomplete. It omits the required template sections, checklist status, testing details, related issue, and the rationale for freezing Kiro CLI.

Resolution

Complete the repository template. Add the related issue or mark it as not applicable, explain the Kiro CLI freeze and maintained-app updates, complete applicable checklist items, document testing and manual QA, and add the required AI section if an AI agent prepared the pull request description.

Review comments at @ee/maintained-apps/outputs/kiro-cli/darwin.json:
- Line 21: Restore the remove_launchctl_service call for
com.amazon.codewhisperer.launcher in the Kiro CLI uninstall generator input
before the LaunchAgent plist is removed, then regenerate darwin.json so
uninstall stops the loaded launcher.
- Line 21: Restore the uninstall steps in the generator source that produces the
`uninstall_script_ref`: quit Kiro CLI and unload its launch agent, then remove
`Kiro CLI.app` from `$APPDIR` with the existing elevated removal behavior. Keep
the existing user-file cleanup in `trash` and regenerate the `darwin.json`
reference hash so it matches the updated script.
- Line 20: Update the install script identified by INSTALLER_PATH to extract the
.zip artifact instead of passing it to hdiutil attach, then copy the app bundle
from the extracted contents into APPDIR so it persists after the temporary
directory is removed. Confirm the bundle’s name in the archive before selecting
it; do not assume it is Kiro CLI.app.

@allenhouchins allenhouchins changed the title Update Fleet-maintained apps Fix Kiro CLI and update Fleet-maintained apps Oct 31, 2026
The kiro-cli cask switched from the Kiro CLI.app DMG to a binary-only
zip, which can't be inventoried by osquery's apps table. Keep the
last-known-good DMG output and freeze the input.

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

The new Clop DMG retains install_script_ref 2c34478a; installation may fail if that script assumes an app path or DMG layout that the 3.6.5 artifact changed.

Clop upgrades fail or install the wrong contents.

This can occur when: The 3.6.5 DMG places Clop.app at a different path from the previous DMG.

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

The 0.83.0 ZIP is paired with the unchanged install_script_ref a2b1c1cf; a changed archive directory structure may make that script miss CodexBar.app.

CodexBar upgrades fail or install an unexpected file.

This can occur when: The 0.83.0 ZIP nests or renames the app relative to the 0.82.0 ZIP.

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

The patched query now requires the inventoried bundle_short_version to reach 7.722.1. A 7.722.1 release whose app bundle still reports 7.722.0 would therefore remain unpatched after installation.

Devices successfully upgraded to this release continue to be offered the same upgrade.

This can occur when: Granola's 7.722.1 DMG contains an app whose CFBundleShortVersionString is 7.722.0.
