Summary

Letta Agent SDK (@letta-ai/letta-agent-sdk) is the official, actively-maintained TypeScript/JavaScript SDK for Letta's stateful agents — agents with persistent identity, long-term memory, and tool/model state that survives across conversations, models, and machines. Its core agent-execution surface (client.createAgent(), client.resumeSession(), session.send()/streaming) is not instrumented anywhere in this repository.

Note: Letta also publishes an older, now-deprecated REST client, @letta-ai/letta-client (repo letta-ai/letta-node), whose README explicitly states "This package is deprecated... unmaintained and receives no new features," directing users to the Agent SDK instead. This gap report is about the current, supported @letta-ai/letta-agent-sdk, not the deprecated client.

What's missing

• new LettaAgentClient(...) / client.createAgent(...) — creates a stateful agent.
• client.resumeSession(agentId) / session.send(...) and its streaming variant — the agent-run execution surface, analogous to other already-instrumented agent frameworks (e.g. claude-agent-sdk, openai-agents, strands-agent-sdk).

None of @letta-ai/letta-agent-sdk, letta-agent-sdk, LettaAgentClient, or letta (case-insensitive) appear anywhere in js/src/, js/src/auto-instrumentations/configs/all.ts (the instrumentation registry), js/src/span-origin.ts (INSTRUMENTATION_NAMES), or any e2e/scenarios/* directory.
