Release only for user-facing changes with semantic-release-user-facing #32
The release config patch-releases build, chore, ci, docs, refactor, style and test commits, so a commit that only touches tests, docs, CI or tooling still publishes a version.
semantic-release-user-facing replaces @semantic-release/commit-analyzer and @semantic-release/release-notes-generator with versions that drop commits touching nothing a consumer can observe (tests, docs, CI, lockfiles, dev-only package.json fields) before the stock plugins see them. The stock options pass through unchanged, so the change is pnpm add -D semantic-release-user-facing and the two plugin names in release.config.ts: semantic-release-user-facing for the analyzer and semantic-release-user-facing/notes for the notes generator.
Done when a test-only commit on the default branch gives no release in a semantic-release dry run and a source commit still does. Paths specific to this repository that never ship go in userFacing.exclude.
